From l994 until 2000, the Union List continued to be administered by committee. However, in summer of 2000, the committee disbanded citing difficulties on the part of its members in keeping up with the work of the committee combined with work back in the libraries. The members of that last committee were: Debbie Gomes, Elms College; Theresa Labato, Holyoke Community College; Tani Eckstrand, Springfield College; Dale Labonte, American International College; Christine Archambault, Western New England College Law Library; Iris Bradley-Lovekin Western New England College, D'Amour Library; Gayle Ball, Springfield City Library, and Lynn Eaton, Springfield Technical Community College. For the fiscal year 2002, there was no coordinator available to do the work of the Union List for that year. In Fall 200l, Lynn Eaton, the former committee chair, offered a proposal to the CLGS directors. The proposal involved the creation of a consultant position to oversee not only the Union List production, but to also take over some of the administrative assistant type work for CLGS. The proposal was accepted. Lynn Eaton was hired by CLGS to begin work in January 2002. All of the administrative and data entry work is once again being handled by one person instead of by committee.   For the first time, in that production schedule of the Union List, CLGS was able to produce the list in electronic format. In March 2002, the Union List information from OCLC was downloaded into the Voyager system at Springfield College. Thanks to Cheryl Kisiel and Tani Eckstrand of Springfield College who handled the download from the 'Product Services' portion of the OCLC web site, the CLGS Union List was finally available to its members in a flexibly searchable form via a server that was set up for CLGS at Springfield College. In March 2003, this was done a 2^nd time, also by staff at Springfield College.   In previous paper incarnations of the List, users were able to find information only by checking for titles. In this flexible web based product, users are able to search not only by title, but also by subject, ISSN, author/company responsible for the journal, and previous and later titles all from one bibliographic record. This is an enormous improvement over the linear paper title searching. Because there is no paper printing costs involved and because downloading the files from OCLC is cheaper than having the files converted into paper format, the cost to CLGS is smaller. However, there is a fee to be paid to the Endeavor Company which owns the Voyager software when the files are downloaded. In coming downloads we will experiment with downloading these files ourselves without the help of the Voyager staff, thus saving more money on the project.
