Springfield City circulation policies

Library books and most AV material circulate for three weeks. Videocassettes tapes may be charged out for two days, with a limit of two videos per patron. No specific information about AV materials. On the policies page, also click on "alumni/guest" borrowing for rules on identification for non-Springfield College students, staff, and faculty.

Springfield City Library circulates all media to all patrons. Loan periods are:

videos & DVDs - 7 days,

all other media: 21 days

All other media may be renewed ONCE.

All media are available to fill C/WMARS system-wide holds and other ILL request.

Limitations:

DVDs - 3 per checkout

CDs - 8 per checkout

CLGS college students, faculty, and staff must have a card from a C/WMARS Public Library to borrow. To get a Springfield City Public Library card, borrowers must present a picture ID with their current name and current local address. Students must also present their college ID and an ID with their permanent address.

Music, CDs, Books on CD, and Audiocassettes circulate for 28 days to STCC students, staff, and faculty and to CLGS students holding a valid ID from their institution. C/WMARS patrons, with a C/WMARS card, can also borrow.

Videocassettes and DVDs only circulate to STCC students, faculty, and staff.

The video collection is in two sections. First is the circulating section, housed at the end of the Reference section, that students, and faculty/staff may take out for three days. Second is the Permanent Reserve Videos, housed behind the Circulation Desk, which only faculty/staff may take out for three days.

WNEC Law will continue to be non-lenders to CLGS students and staff. However, these patrons will be able to use our facility. The Law Library's circulation role within CLGS is very limited.

WHAT MAY BE BORROWED: Materials from the Circulating Collection.

ID cards: CLGS patrons are required to apply for an ELY LIBRARY card before checking out materials. ID cards are not available on the day of application. ALL CLGS patrons are required to use their ELY LIBRARY ID cards to check out library materials.
